Distressed
Jaguar XK-E
A British classic from the late 60’s. My digital graphic illustration (above) was created using a limited color palette (shadow, midtone and highlights). I chopped the windows for a sleeker look. Then added a little rough texture for interest (see below middle) . The “Jag” reference (see photos below ) was my inspiration. (Photoshop)
‘HoHoHo’
Have you been Naughty or Nice? Merry Christmas 2018!! (Photoshop)
Cardinal Farm
Here is a fun logo illustration I created for a highland cattle farm in the Traverse City MI area. The project involved a logo and signage (so a vector format was the perfect fit). A few of my idea sketches and client reference (see images below). (Photoshop/Illustrator)
Merry Christmas
A little elf magic… do you Believe? Merry Christmas 2017!! (Photoshop)
Cement Works

An icon (cement mixer see image below left) that I created in Adobe Illustrator (a designer friend asked me to create for a freelance project he was working on). My rough idea sketch (see image below right). I than repurposed it to create the logo above. (Illustrator/Photoshop)

Merry Christmas
“The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow”… Gave the luster of rudolf with his nose all aglow… Merry Christmas 2016! (Photoshop)
Red Flames
A smiling human skull, flames, bugged out eyes and a little grunge just seemed like a good mix for this digital painting! My rough idea sketch for composition (see image below top left). I used a charcoal brush (see image below top right) from GrutBrushes.com to create the rough edged feel to the skull and flames. The reference for the skull (see images below bottom) came from a 3D model. (Photoshop/Keyshot/Maya)
Juggling Clown
This graphic illustration was conceived as a rough idea sketch for a greetings card project (commissioned) that never went to finish. I always thought it would be fun to take the idea sketch to completion. My rough sketch for composition and color ideas (see image below top). My inspiration (see images below bottom) came from some vintage circus posters of days gone by. (Photoshop/Illustrator)
Merry Christmas
A sleigh and reindeer aren’t Santa’s only form of transportation. He loves to run errands in his 1937 Ford Woody. Happy Holidays 2015! (Photoshop/Illustrator)
Vintage Detroit Iron
My interest in Hotrods and Customs started in the mid 90’s after illustrating a couple of Posters (traditional illustration) for the Detroit Autorama. The reference (see image below left) is one from my collection of photos from the Woodward Dream Cruise. The distressed painted metal (see image below right) was the starting point for the background texture. (Photoshop)
Big Brim Hat
This graphic illustration was an example for a student of mine (B&W photograph by Bill Harvey – see image below left). I start my process with a rough sketch for composition (see image below middle). Next I demonstrating how I simplify a photograph into interesting shapes (see image below right). Then adding a nice color palette, and a little texture to finish it off. (Photoshop/Illustrator)
